Wil Pentz

March 29, 2007 — July 27, 2021

Croydon

Wil Charles Pentz returned home to his loving Heavenly Father on July 27, 2021. Although Wil’s time on earth was cut short, he completed more than most adults in a lifetime.   From the time Wil was seven months old, he became known as the “miracle child” when he survived a near death drowning accident that was nothing short of a miracle.  Our loving Heavenly Father graciously gave thirteen additional years for all to soak up Wil’s light and marinate in his goodness that always included a big toothy smile and a positive outlook on life that left others striving to become better.

Wil had a love for the outdoors.  From the time he woke up until the time he went to bed he was outside exploring, discovering, designing, or crafting a new invention that always left his family shaking their heads in awe at his level of ingenuity and uniqueness that clearly defined him. From designing and constructing tree houses, BMX ramps, go carts, racoon hunting, shed hunting, spotlighting, fishing, chasing cows, riding horses and riding the 198 bull out back in the bull pen, wrestling and playing football, he was found willingly serving others with his happy heart and infectious smile - giving of his time and talents freely to help make life easier for others. He was the first to lend a hand and the last to expect a handout. He was hardworking and courageous- always willing to take on a new challenge and try new things. Once committed, Wil gave 110% at everything he did.  He was handy on a horse and was notorious for making bets with his brothers and finagling a way to come out on top.  He was determined to show his brothers up by being the first Pentz boy to earn the title of four-time state wrestling champion.  Wil was determined and destined to succeed.  At the young age of 14, his future was outlined, and, along with his cousins, Mason and Tyson, a lucrative business called PPP Welding Co. would be born – providing a comfortable living for the three of them in the country of Croydon.  Wil’s gift for reciting lines from movies will be missed along with regular trips with his dad to the convenience store - piling up a plethora of Takis and jalapeno Cheetos with bean dip.

At the time of his death, Wil’s resourcefulness involved the designing, crafting, and creating unique pieces of leather.  There was no end to Wil’s talents, skills, and capabilities.  He was intentionally humble as he recognized they were gifts from his Heavenly Father - intended to be shared with others.

Wil was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  He loved his Heavenly Father, and he patterned his life after His, always putting others’ need before his own and always giving back more than he received. Wil’s purpose on earth was fulfilled and Heavenly Father called him home.  With tears in our eyes and pain in our hearts, our love for Wil will never part.

Wil is survived by his loving parents Elisha Croydon and Krissy Jean Wood Pentz of Croydon, Utah; his five brothers, Hayden, Jayden (Casey), Owen (Josie), Waylen, and Lad Pentz; one sister Soozi Fuller (Braxton); grandparents Steve and Vicky Pentz, Peggy and Jim Sorensen, Bud Wood; great grandmother, Katherine Barker. He is preceded in death by great grandparents Robert and Margaret Brown, Howard and Darlene Sorensen, Robert and Emma Wood, Ruel Barker, and Charles and Vi Pentz; aunt, Soozi Pentz and uncle, Shared Pentz.
