Henefer

With broken hearts we sadly announce the passing of our angel mother Nancy Richins.

Nancy was born in Los Angeles, California, a daughter of Lee Meredith Feaman and Ruth Chapin Feaman. Mom’s mother passed away when she was an infant, and therefore was raised by her father and paternal grandparents, Anna Louise and William Henry (Bobo) Feaman.    There were several moves when mom was young, until eventually settling in Morgan where she made many friends creating great memories.

Nancy met her eternal companion, Sheldon, at a Morgan ball game and was smitten right off.  The two of them fell in love; marrying shortly after.  Together they raised a loving family of two boys and two girls.  They built their home and lives together in Henefer.

Mother was our hero in so many ways.  She had the kindest heart and never spoke ill of anyone or anything.  She didn’t like gossip or confrontation of any kind.  We so enjoyed her pleasant disposition and witty sense of humor.  She had the uncanny ability to respond with unexpected comebacks that always made us laugh out loud.

Mom loved so many things.  Her home and her flower gardens were her haven. Mom was always busy, and before her health declined, she enjoyed working out in her yard every morning pulling weeds or planting flowers. She kept an immaculate home where love was always a constant.  Everyone who entered was warmly welcomed with kindness and a smile.  She loved reading her entire life, surrounding herself with many books and reading material of all kinds.  She had a very keen mind and we cherish her wise words of wisdom.

Mom loved everything about Christmas, from the impeccably decorated tree to the carefully selected gifts. Joining together as family was the highlight of the season for her.

Mother loved the gospel.  She was a diligent scholar of the scriptures and doctrine of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She had an enduring testimony that never faltered.  She was a dedicated servant in any calling she willingly accepted.

So many things our mother loved, but nothing compared to her love of family.  She and dad are a wonderful example of love and dedication to each other; recently celebrating 64 years of marriage.  Her posterity was her pride and joy.  She delighted in all her many grandchildren and great grandchildren’s accomplishments.  She was aware and concerned about every single family member whether a time of celebration or heartache.  Each thought they were her favorite, which they were.

Our dear wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, friend, and confidant will be immensely missed on a daily basis.

Nancy worked at 4-D West in Morgan for a time, then later retired from Holcim Cement Company.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brother, Bob Feaman, grandson, Jeffrey Richins; and great-granddaughter Raelynn Richins.  She leaves behind her husband, Sheldon D. Richins; daughter, Kathy (Jon) Stephens; daughter, Joyce (Rex) Housley; son, Dan (Bonita) Richins; son, Kirt (Raegan) Richins; 18 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren.

Thank you for your gentle example of goodness and Christlike love grandma, we love you.

Viewing will be held at the Henefer Church Saturday, June 13 from 9-11 a.m.  A private family service will be held later.

Interment will be held in the Henefer Cemetery.
