Marsha Cotton

April 28, 1948 — January 26, 2021

Coalville

After 72 Years of mortality, Marsha Cotton (Wilde) peacefully transitioned into the Spirit World. She will have been reunited with her beloved parents, Charles Owen Wilde and Alice May Jones. Preceding her in death was her ex-spouse, Michael Cotton. She is survived by her brothers Ralph and John Wilde as well as her sisters Bonita Thacker and Margaret Wilde. She is also survived by her sons James Cotton and Tim Wilde. Marsha was also the proud grandmother of her three beautiful grandchildren Mara Jade Wilde, Asher Owen Wilde and Sylas Walker Wilde who were her greatest source of joy during her remaining years.

Born in Coalville, Utah, she graduated from North Summit High School in 1966.  After High School she attended Dixie University and continued her education throughout her life as various fields and interests intrigued her. She studied Psychology, Art and specialized in Photography. Her mind was always at work and she attended various schools throughout her life wherever she lived.

Her interest in photography led her through a career in the US Navy where she enlisted in 1971. Marsha served her country in Bainbridge Maryland, Washington D.C., Key West Florida, Pearl Harbor Hawaii, Fallon Nevada, and Miramar, San Diego California where she was honorably discharged in 1991.

Marsha's passions extended beyond photography into literature, mathematics, film, quilting, and mostly genealogy. From an early age, her love and intrigue for her family carried a strong dedication to researching her ancestors. Even in her final days, her mind was on those who had gone before her as she accessed whatever genealogical research she could on modern devices.

Marsha was a dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She served often with the children in the Primary Program which is what she loved. She was a loving and devoted mother, daughter, sister and friend. Her legacy was one of independence and service.

Her love for her family and matriarchal care for her children and grandchildren could never be questioned. But most importantly, her love for her Father in Heaven and her faith in her Savior, Jesus Christ, was always deep in her heart and in the front of her mind. That love and faith will carry her throughout the eternities with great joy and peace for the life she lived on Earth.
