Louis Oriel Vernon, passed away on September 28, 2021. He was born February 6, 1927 in Wanship, Utah to Francis Oscar and Sadie Amelia Vernon. He was the last to survive of three brothers, Reed (Elda), Art (Betty), Stewart (survived by sister-in-law Connie) Vernon and one sister Merlene (Dick) Juluson. A sister, Ona Myrtle, had previously died at the age of four months.
He was called to serve in World War II, stationed in Milan Italy, as a military police officer, prior to graduating from North Summit High School in Coalville Utah. Years later he received an honorary diploma. He married, Myrl Sargent, in the Salt Lake Temple, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on June 1, 1949. Myrl preceded him in death on June 11, 2012. They have five children: four sons, L. Craig (Margaret), D. Blake (Ruth), Donald F. (Jacki), Clayton M. (Colleen); and one daughter Kala Ann Vernon; 18 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren.
They built their home in Wanship Utah and lived there until their passing. They spent 63 years together. Louie and Myrl enjoyed traveling in their 5th wheel RV to various places, especially to Quartzsite, AZ., where they had friends from around the nation.
He installed refrigerated bulk milk tanks for Brown Equipment, drove 18-wheeler trucks for several companies, worked at Geary construction, and then risked everything to build his successful self-storage business. He always provided for his family and will continue to do so. He enjoyed going to the auctions, especially livestock auctions. He loved ice cream and diet coke.
He will be missed, but now is at peace and reunited with his wife and loved ones. He was appreciated, and has had an impact on each one of us. He will not be forgotten.

Memorial services will be held Monday October 4, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the Wanship Ward Chapel, 31000 Old Lincoln Hwy, Wanship, Utah. A viewing will be held at the church Sunday October 3, 2021, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. and Monday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service. Interment, at the Wanship Cemetery.
