Linda Jane Smith Turner departed her earthly life on April 2, 2021, following a courageous battle with cancer.
She loved her Heavenly Father, the Savior Jesus Christ , His gospel and her family, whose wellbeing was ever present in her life.
She married her sweetheart from Utah State University, Alan Turner, in the Salt Lake Temple in 1969 and shared over 51 years together as they reared their six outstanding girls. She settled into the Mountain Green Area in 1971 where she remained until her death. She also loved her 18 grandchildren who brought her an everlasting joy and pleasure.
Linda served a mission with her husband Alan in Zimbabwe, Africa where they directed all humanitarian services, in Zimbabwe, Malawi and Zambia, Africa. Following her mission to Africa, she also served 2 years as an Inner City Missionary in the Eccles Park Ward in Ogden, Utah. At the same time she served as an ordinance worker in both the old and new Ogden Utah Temples for over seven years. Other church callings included the Relief Society, cub scouting as well as in several music positions. She enjoyed singing in several choirs, both in the church and in the community.
Linda graduated from Morgan High School in 1964, and from Utah State University in 1968. She taught Home Economics at Kaysville Jr. High in Kaysville, Utah for 1 ½ years.
Linda was selected and served as a Morgan County Fair Queen and also as a Morgan County Dairy Princess.
Linda is survived by her husband, Alan; children, Laura (Bart) Radle, Lynnette (Rob) Benedict, LeAnne (Aaron) Tracy, Alicia (Nathan ) Hadley, Alana (Nate) Woodbury and Ash (Alison) Turner.
Funeral Services will be conducted by Walker Mortuary. Viewing will take place 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Walker Mortuary, 45 W 200 North, Morgan, Utah 84050 on Friday evening. The funeral services will take place Saturday April 10, 2021 at 11 am at the Highlands Ward Chapel, 5378 Old Highway Road in Mountain Green. A prior viewing will occur from 10:00 to 10:45 am at the church. Interment will take place at the South Morgan Cemetery.
