James Gadd

June 18, 1979 — March 18, 2020

Beloved husband, father and son passed away suddenly on March 18, 2020.

James was born on June 18, 1979 in Fairfax, Virginia to Linda Bean Gadd and James William Gadd.

James met Bridget Blonquist in 1999 one day while chatting in a chat room her senior year in high school. While chatting online and over the phone they decided they should meet in person. Bridget flew out to Virginia in June of 2000 to meet him for his 21st birthday. Even though we were miles apart our love grew. On Bridget’s 21st birthday January 9, 2002, James got on an airplane to move to Utah to be with the “Love of his Life.” They were married on March 14, 2004 in Las Vegas.

James loved building; he remodeled the basement in their home, built sheds, a covered patio, and a greenhouse to complete the things he wanted in his yard. James also loved to garden. I know most of you are thinking James gardening?? Yes he loved to watch them grow and took pride in knowing his wife and daughter could go out and pick fresh fruits and veggies! He loved to travel. Some of his favorite places to go were Virginia to spend time with friends and family. He loved taking Bridget to see all the sights and historic landmarks. Yellowstone was his favorite, he loved animal watching, hiking and all the beauty it had to offer.

James loved to go on adventures with his wife and started on the greatest adventure when they decided to start a family. On July 10, 2016 the second love of his life was born Aurora Lynn. James was so excited to name her after the beauty of the Aurora Borealis. She was the key to his heart and did everything for his daughter. They loved being outside playing at the park, riding her bike around the block; but most of all being her jungle gym or monster! He let her climb on him no matter what time of day or how tired he was when he got home from work. Some nights they would even wake mom up before I had to work with the sound of little feet running up and down the hall followed by little screams and laughter.

We went on a family trip to Redwood National Forest and Sonoma beach this past September. Aurora and James were a fearless duo exploring nature, climbing on trees and running from waves on the beach. They picked up countless sea shells on the beach and she sat on his shoulders watching the waves roll onto the shore. She was his sweetheart and will be forever.
He is survived by his wife Bridget of 16 years of Clearfield, his beautiful daughter Aurora Lynn whom he cherished, and mother Linda Bean Gadd of Virginia that he loved and appreciated for everything she does. James also loved all of his cousins, aunts and uncles, brother and sister in-laws along with his mom in-law. He was an only child but thanks to all of his extended family he had many nieces, nephews and cousins that he loved. Before he had his own child, James would spend as much time as he could playing and caring for all of the kids. They were naturally drawn to him and he loved every minute with them.

He is preceded in death by his Grandmother Margaret Ellen Bean and aunts Carol A Good and Fern N McWillams.
