Geraldine Lichtenstein

January 16, 1932 — October 12, 2021

Geraldine S Lichtenstein passed away peacefully in her sleep with her beautiful loyal cat by her side. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Geri was born January 16, 1932, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Rulon J and Lucy Emma Sperry. She lived in Salt Lake City throughout her childhood. She attended East High School where she had many friends and was voted Homecoming Queen. She attended the University of Utah and pledged Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority.

Geri enjoyed all kinds of sports, loved animals, especially horses and dogs. She was creatively gifted and adorned her home beautifully. Geri was a courageous and independent spirit, a quality which she certainly passed on to her posterity. We have many fond memories with her going camping, skiing, trips to Lake Powell and endless hours at the beach. Geri loved to travel and was never afraid to try new things.

Geri was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was endowed in the Salt Lake City Temple. She served in numerous capacities including Young Women’s President, her leadership and teaching talents touched the lives of many for good. She remained faithful in her testimony of Jesus Christ as her Savior.

Geri was preceded in death by her husband Joram Lichtenstein and her son Cordell Sperry Hammond. She is survived by her 3 daughters Rebecca (Bill) Black, Margaret (Jeff) Larsen, Marian (Ronald) Hale, 13 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. Her love and influence will be missed greatly.

A viewing for the family and friends will be held Monday, October 18, from 11:00-11:50 am. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 pm, at Walker Mortuary located at 45 West 200 North, Morgan, Utah. Interment will follow at Park City Cemetery, 1300 Kearns Blvd, Park City Utah.
