William Kent Redden passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Thursday, August 13, 2026, at the age of 97. Kent was born Feb 18, 1929, in Devils Slide Utah, to William and Bernice Redden. He married his eternal sweetheart on Feb 25, 1948, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Kent was a devoted husband to Betty, and a loving father to Ryan, Pam, Scott, Jodi and Jan. Kent was a man of God. He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in several callings in the Bishopric. He and his wife, Betty, also served a service mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at the Conference Center in Salt Lake City which was extended for 7 years.
Kent dedicated his life to his family and community. He worked for 39 years in many capacities at Hill AFB, as a Civilian. His most memorable position was in Flight Test on the F-89. He has numerous stories of flying with the pilots, testing and managing the controls. He always said they would call his name, "Redden suit up, you're going flying!” Outside of work, he was an avid family man often found helping his children and grandchildren, or on the golf course with his sweet wife. He supported his kids, grandkids and great grandkids by attending every sporting event that he possibly could. He also enjoyed sharing stories of his life, growing up in Devils Slide, and flying in the F-89 planes in Flight Test.
He is survived by his sister, Sheila (Mark) Wilkinson, his children, Pam (Gary) Lewis, Scott (Jody) Redden, Jodi (Brad) Beyeler and Jan (Scott) Allington. 13 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, and 3 great, great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, he adored them and they adored him. He was preceded in death by his sweet wife Betty, his parents, his sister, Carol DeWall, his son, Ryan, and 2 grandsons, Derek Beyeler, and Weslee Allington.
A viewing will be held on Monday Aug 24, from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at the Roy North Stake Center, 2175 W 4250 S, Roy. A viewing will be held Aug 25 from 10:00 - 10:45 am at Walker Mortuary 45 West 200 North, Morgan UT, prior to a graveside service at 11:00 am at the North Morgan Cemetery.
