Wanda Whittaker

February 4, 1922 — July 21, 2013

Wanda Fern Riley Whittaker, 91, passed away quietly July 21, 2013, of natural causes at the Alta View Hospital in Sandy, UT.

Wanda was born in Burley, ID February 4, 1922 to Russell Emanuel and Jessie May Harris Riley. Wanda married L.M. Whittaker on May 8, 1941 in Burley, ID and later sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple. Wanda had a great love for flowers and could make anything grow. She worked in her mother's garden and learned all the names of the flowers. She loved to crochet and made all grand children afghans and snowflakes for their Christmas trees! She was always involved in genealogy and in her later years enjoyed seeing the completion of ancestors temple work. She was very computer savvy for her age and never missed a birthday through regular mail or email. She loved to keep in touch with family through Facebook. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and had a strong testimony of the gospel. Wanda & L.M. served two LDS missions from '79-'81 and '89-'90. Wanda had a great love for people and continued to nurture and served others in her later years.

She has four children Char Johnson, Russ Whittaker, Cynthia Larson, Marsha Stanford, 25 grandchildren and 66 great- grand children.

She was preceded in death by her sweetheart L.M. and her oldest daughter Char.

Funeral services for Wanda will be held Saturday, July 27 at 11:00 a.m. in the Crescent Park 4th Ward, 10885 So Pampas Way Sandy, UT. A viewing will be held at 9:00 a.m. in the church prior to the service. Interment will be at the Wanship Cemetery in Wanship UT.
