Stewart R. Murdock, 89, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend of many, passed away Saturday, January 31, 2026, of kidney failure.
He was born May 17, 1936, in Heber, Utah, to James and Rhea Murdock. On February 21, 1957, Stewart married his sweetheart Connie Porter Murdock in the Salt Lake Temple. They were blessed with three children during their 56 years together until Connie’s death in 2013. In 2018, he married Sharon Campbell Angius. She died only a week before Stew’s passing. He provided love and care to both Connie and Sharon during their struggles with dementia. Stew was always the perfect gentleman.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in many callings, his favorite being the Scout Master.
Stew graduated from Morgan High School. He served in the United States Army from 1959 to 1961. He had a successful career working in sales with Swift, Sunset Sporting Goods, Sigman’s, Bar-S, and retired in May 2001 from Rodon Foods.
Stew loved being outdoors and working in his very well-manicured yard. He loved hunting, fishing, camping, and golfing with his favorite foursome while enjoying a Coke and a candy bar. He loved road trips, drives to Lost Creek, always enjoyed the family trips to Newport Beach, and any time spent at their second home in St. George. Stew and Connie were avid supporters of BYU football. They were members of the BYU Cougar club and traveled with good friends to several elite universities to support the Cougars.
He is survived by one son, two daughters and their spouses; Cort and Beth Murdock, Smithfield; Lynette and Roger McIntire, Ogden; Shannon and Blake Harrop, Willard; 2 stepsons, Scott and Eric Goodwin; brother Lowell Murdock, 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, whom he loved dearly.
Stew was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Kent Murdock.
The family would like to give special thanks to Our House Assisted Living and Atlas Hospice for their loving care and service.
