Steven Wayne Milligan, 37, beloved son, brother, and uncle, returned to his heavenly home on Monday, May 3, 2021, after battling many years with drug addiction.
Steven was born September 30, 1983, in Ogden, Utah. He is the son of the late Paul L. Milligan and Susan Hill Woodard, and the stepson of Dean Woodard of Morgan, Utah.
Steven spent his early childhood in Roy, Utah and moved to Garland, Texas when he was seven-years-old. He attended Naaman Forest High school in Garland, Texas and received his GED in 2001. He married Emily Maughan in the San Diego Temple on April 11, 2009; they later divorced.
Steven’s mind was quick and analytical. He could research and learn a new skill or engineer a solution to almost any problem. This led him to a variety of jobs and experiences in sales and construction.
Steven loved fishing, fitness, and family. He and his three brothers shared a comradery of playfulness and pushing each other to excel. He loved and adored his two sisters and lovingly teased them in a way that only a brother could. Steven loved little children and was always watchful over them, especially his nieces and nephews. He was compassionate, kind, and had a great sense of humor. He was always willing to help others.
We will miss the joy and light he brought into our lives here on earth but know that we will be reunited again as an eternal family. We take strength in the knowledge that “death is a mere comma, not an exclamation point!” and wait for that glorious day of resurrection.
Steven is survived by his mother, Susan Hill Woodard (Dean); sisters Kimberly Wine and Cindy Cloninger; brothers Jeffrey Denning (Alise), Gregory Denning (Rachel), Scott Milligan (Lawni), and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Paul Leslie Milligan, and his brother-in-law, John Thomas Cloninger; grandparents: Wayne and Jean Hill.
Graveside services will be held at the North Morgan Cemetery, 825 N. 700 East, on Friday, May 14, 2021 at 11:00 a.m.
