Patricia Jeanne Richins of Henefer, Utah, age 68, beloved daughter of Carl Ether and Jeanne Pyper Richins, passed away November 2, 2020 in Salt Lake City due to lung and heart failure. She is survived by her brothers Robert (Patsy) Richins of Henefer, Steve (Vicky) Richins of Henefer, sisters-in-law Berta Richins of South Ogden, and Marie G Richins of Henefer, and many nieces and nephews who loved her. She is preceded in death by her father and mother, and her brothers Alma Richins, and Carl LaMar Richins.
Patricia loved her childhood and growing up with her four brothers. She talked often about playing cowboys and indians with them, and her favorite Christmas gift was a hand-made saddle in ’63. She enjoyed working on the family farm and riding horses to gather up the sheep and cattle and driving the tractor.
Pat graduated from North Summit High School and also received her Bachelor’s Degree from Weber State University.
She was an endowed member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and helped make over a hundred quilts for humanitarian aid.
Pat was employed at the Holcim Cement Plant for many years. She also worked for the North Summit School District where she assisted in the preschool program at the elementary, and also drove the school bus. She loved being with the children. She had a contagious giggle and when she got started, it was hard to shut her down.
Pat faithfully cared for her aging mother with kindness and love. She had a tender place in her heart for animals and took great care of her dogs, Toby, Gizzmo, and Pierre, and her horses, King, Ginger, and Jacob.
Patricia was proud of her family heritage and could tell for hours fond stories about her past. There surely was a great reunion on the other side.
The family would like to thank all Pat’s many friends and medical personnel who helped her through her difficult times, especially the last few years.
