Natalie Garritson

September 2, 1979 — January 11, 2015

Natalie Marshall Garritson

Natalie Marshall Garritson returned home to the arms of her loving Heavenly Father on January 11, 2015 after a valiant fight following complications from heart surgery.  She was surrounded by her loving family as she left her earthly home.

Natalie was born on September 2, 1979 in Ogden, UT to David and Debbie (Bridges) Marshall of West Point.  Natalie graduated from Clearfield High, Stacy’s College of Beauty, and Weber State University where she received her bachelor’s degree in Child and Family Studies. Natalie found joy in her career as a beautician where she was able to foster lifelong friendships. Natalie spent countless hours developing relationships with anyone she crossed paths with.  Her amazing sense of humor and contagious laughter filled everyone’s heart with sunshine.

Natalie married her sweetheart and eternal soul mate, Byron Garritson, on October 10, 2003 in the Bountiful LDS Temple.  The two of them together were inseparable partners in crime and the love of each other’s lives.

Always a devoted wife and mother, Natalie found her greatest joy spending time serving her family.  She was the mother of three adorable children, Gracee (8), Bennett (3), and Scarlett (1).  She loved teaching, interacting, and creating things for and with her babies. Her greatest calling in life was being a mother. One of her greatest joys was making memories on family vacations. Aside from her husband and children, Natalie’s next delight was laughing and spending time with her sisters.

She devoted her life to Christ like discipleship, serving in many organizations throughout the LDS church. Her favorite calling among them was serving the Young Women of the Park West Ward and the Layton West, Utah Stake.  Through her testimony and talents, Natalie was able to impact the lives of young women and leaders alike. Natalie will truly be missed by many.

She is survived by her loving husband, three beautiful children, parents, and sisters who are her best friends; Karalee (Josh) Lyman, Krista (Dustin) Harrah, and Hollie Marshall; her grandparents, James and Deanna Bridges; her in-laws, Chuck and Linda Dever and many special in-laws, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents Mike and Eileen Marshall, and her dear sister in-law Natalie Walker Garritson.

In lieu of flowers you may donate to an account that has been set up with America First Credit Union, Natalie’s Bionic Heart or last name Garritson.

The family would like to thank all of the Doctors, Nurses, and Staff at McKay Dee Hospital ICU for their compassionate care to our beloved Natalie.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 17, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the Park West Ward Chapel, 1715 West 1600 North, Layton.  Friends and family may call at the church Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.  Interment, West Point Cemetery.
