Maureen Spriggs

Coalville - Maurine Carlile Spriggs passed away September 6, 2012 in Salt Lake City. As a spunky 96 year old "She did it her way." She was born November 10, 1915, in Woodland, Utah, to Alma and Edith Carlile.
She graduated from BYU in 1937. She taught English, PE, dance and library science for 43 years. A special part of her life was dance productions, writing and directing musicals. She married Jack Spriggs in 1944 in Evanston, Wyoming. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. They had one daughter, Suzanne.
Maurine was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; daughter, Suzanne; brother, Lewis A. (Dorothy) Carlile; sister, Aleen (Gordon) Case; brother, John Carlile.
Surviving are a brother Robert (Wanda) who live in Colorado; a sister-in-law, Lois Carlile; seven nephews and two nieces.
Special thanks for the loving care of Elaine Manning who has been her caregiver for several years.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Hoytsville Church, 1095 S Hoytsville Rd. Coalville, Utah. A viewing will be held at the church from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the services.
Interment will be at the Hoytsville Cemetery.
