Marjorie Porter

March 16, 1916 — November 18, 2016

Marjorie Grace Porter, 100, passed away peacefully in her home on Friday, November 18, 2016.

“Marge” was born March 16, 1916 in Porterville, Utah to Lawrence Addison and Gertrude Porter.  She was the 6th of 13 children.  Marge graduated from Morgan High School in 1934.  She met and married Owen Max Porter in 1949.  They moved to California in 1955, where she resided for the remainder of her life.  Marge was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  Marge enjoyed quilting, traveling the world, but most of all, family.

Marge was the proud mother of two children, Gayle (Mark) Randle and Scott (Cathy) Porter, and a loving grandmother to 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.  Her wit, sense of humor, testimony and deep love for family left an everlasting impression on all who had an opportunity to know her.  She will be dearly missed.  Although Marge spent the past 61 years in California, she always called Morgan and Porterville “home”.

Services for Marge will be held on Friday, December 2, 2016 at the Morgan LDS Church located at 10 W Young Street, Morgan, UT 84050.  Viewing will be at 10 am, followed by services at 11am.

Interment will be next to her husband, Owen Max Porter, in the South Morgan Cemetery.
