It has been said that you were given this life because you were strong enough to live it. That truly expresses Lucille and her unbelievable strength throughout her life. Through any trial or challenge her strength was phenomenal. Tiny but mighty!
On May 6, 1956 John William Mecham and Blanche V Christensen’s lives were illuminated with the birth of their beautiful daughter Lucille Ann Mecham Diston. Her earthly journey was completed all too soon on September 5, 2017 surrounded by family. She was lovingly welcomed home by her parents, brothers: Vern, Ray & Leo, father-in-law Roy, & brother-in-law Craig.
Lucille married her soul mate, Rick, on May 17, 1980 and became the devoted mother to Brandi, Justin (Tori) and Terry (Jaycie). Mom was happiest in the presence of her grandchildren Jacey, Keifer, Dakota, Kelby, Kinzee, Kazlee, Kambree, Britlyn and Dexlyn and great grandson Emmett. She always enjoyed bowling weekly with her mother-in-law Maxine Diston.
She was such a sweet and loving sister to Ray, Eileen, Leo, Vern, Deon, Lorna, Glen, Wanda, June, Gene, John, Donna, & Myrl. They all adored their good-hearted sister & she too cared deeply for them and their families.
A hard work ethic was instilled in mom as a young child working along side her family. Her love for animals made working at White Pine Veterinary Clinic a pleasure. She was loved by all of her co-workers in all of her different places of employment. Her friends at Fox Color Lab continued to cheer her on and comfort her long after their work environment disbursed.
The outdoors is where mom found true happiness. Whether it was going for a ride, collecting sea shells and rocks, golfing, playing softball or going on hikes she was happy to be enjoying nature. She had a love for rusty things. It was never shocking to see a treasure from long ago brought back to life and enjoyed in and around her home. In her quiet moments she loved to read or listen to books while puttering up Franklin Canyon.
