Linden Vernon

September 27, 1927 — September 15, 2007

Coalville a" Linden Mills Vernon "Bin" passed away peacefully Sept. 15, 2007 in the Heber Valley Hospital. He was born Sept. 27, 1927. He would have celebrated his 80th birthday in just a few days. He was born to Lloyd and Velletta (Mills) Vernon in Rockport, Utah. Though he was born with sight, he suffered total blindness early in life. The youngest of four children, he spent his childhood in Rockport on the family farm. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Bin later moved to Hoytsville where his brother-in-law and sister purchased the V. & S. Store. A highlight in his life was being in the store and talking to the people that came in. He had the ability to recognize people by the sound of their voice.

Over the years, there have been many wonderful friends who have taken the time to visit Bin and offer acts of kindness. He moved to the Rocky Mountain Care Center in Heber City six months ago.

It was the simple things that made Bin the happiest: Pepsi, mints, McDonalds, KFC, bologna sandwiches and building blocks. Bin's positive attitude has helped him to adjust to the special challenges he has had in his life. He was an excellent example of enduring to the end. Bin would like to thank everyone that has been so kind to him and helped him along the way.

He is survived by two sisters: Leila (Glen) Siddoway and Louise (Lafe) Bowen and many nieces and nephews who have enriched his life. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Weldon (Bernita) Vernon.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Sept. 20, 2007 at 12 p.m. at the Hoytsville Church. There will be a viewing at the Walker Mortuary in Coalville Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Thursday, one hour prior to services at the church.

Interment will be in the Wanship Cemetery.

"I will love the light, for it shows me the way. Yet I have endured the darkness for it strengthened my soul."
