Leon LaMadeleine

July 16, 1941 — July 9, 2014

MORGAN - Leon LaMadeleine, 72, passed away on July 9, 2014 in Ogden, Ut. Born and raised in Waterbury, CT, he attended St. Anne's Catholic Church and grade school, Crosby High School, received a BS at UCONN, and a MS in Plant Pathology at UNH in Durham, NH. He served in the US Army, was a member of the VFW and was involved in the Republican Party. He then began a life-long career with the U.S. Forest Service from which he retired in 2002. He was also a member and Director in Melaleuca, The Wellness Company up to his death.

Leon is preceded in death and Eternal Life by his parents, and his father-in-law, Anthony Porto. Other deceased members of the family are two brothers and three sisters: Doris Cicchiello, Roland & Yvonne (Drolet) LaMadeleine; Del and Theresa (Hayes) LaMadeleine; Annette & Lucien Fortier; and Claire & John Talbot. He is also preceded by nieces: Cathy (Cicchiello) Green; Barbara (LaMadeleine) Mikishko; Doris LaMadeleine; and nephew Leo Fortier; and great-nephews Bobby & Jimmy Fortier.

Leon is survived by his most beloved wife, Sandra (Porto) LaMadeleine; his beloved sons and their spouses: Brian & Rose (Guanson); Bradley; Wayne & Ashley (Young); and Kyle & Elizabeth (Sottong); his four cherished grandchildren: Nathalia, Tayten, Avery and Kennady; his beloved mother-in-law, Jean Porto; and his twin brother and life-long soul mate, Richard. Also surviving are many nieces and nephew, too numerous to list.

Leon was loved and was deeply touched by the entire LaMadeleine, Beausoleil, Turmel, Hayes, Fortier and Porto families. He was also a man of faith, a Christian, and a grateful member of the Roman Catholic, Seventh Day Adventist, LDS and Baptist Communities of Faith. We thank you for your faith and your support!

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 18, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Rock Church in Morgan (10 W. Young St.) Friends and family may call Thursday at Walker Mortuary, (45 W. 200 N. Morgan Ut.) from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday at the church from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the services. Interment at the South Morgan Cemetery.
