"Ducker"

Larry Don Wright, 74, affectionately known as "Ducker" passed away on December 16, 2011. He was born October 3, 1937 to Ward and Grace (Smith) Wright. He was raised in Coalville, Utah where he attended North Summit High School. On July 26, 1960 he married his sweetheart Vera Dea Robinson. Ducker enjoyed working with his grandfather Samuel Smith on their family ranch in Elkhorn Canyon. In 1962 he and his wife purchased the ranch and moved the family there. He worked various positions in the oil and gas industry and in 2006 he retired from Geary Construction as a heavy equipment operator. He really enjoyed working with his "toys" and several of them followed him home. Ducker was an avid reader with an infectious laugh. He loved to go out dancing and touring with his buddies. He loved his dogs and they loved him. You never saw him without one or two of them riding around in the truck, on the 4-wheeler, or behind him anywhere he went. He spent many hours working on the ranch (a.k.a. Duckerville) with his wife, kids and grandkids. He instilled in them his love of hunting, trapping and the outdoors. He was a part of our lives every day and will be remembered in our hearts with love and affection, always. He is survived by his wife Vera Dea Wright; children, Kayo (DaNita) Wright; Chad (Marya) Wright; Cindy (Todd) Jones; Becky Fox; Sherrie Paskett; two brothers, two sisters, 18 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. Don was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at 11 am in the Upton Ward Chapel located at 2455 E Chalk Creek Road, Coalville, UT. Friends and family may call at the church one hour prior to services.
