Judy Crittenden

April 28, 1930 — December 23, 2016

Judith Wilde Crittenden passed away peacefully in Morgan, Utah surrounded by family on December 23, 2016.

Judy was born on April 28, 1930 to Ella Spackman Hall Wilde and Willard Heber Wilde. She grew up in Coalville, Utah and graduated from North Summit High School and attended Utah State University. Judy married her sweetheart, Sheldon Crittenden, in the Salt Lake Temple on February 16, 1949. They were blessed with two daughters and four sons, Kenneth W. (Shauna) of Hoystville, UT; David Gary (Renske) of South Weber, UT; Kathy Joan (Alan) of Henefer, UT; Brent Sheldon (Marilyn) serving a mission in Moscow, Russia; Robert Kent (Sue) of Kemmerer, WY; and Linda Diane (Todd) of Providence, UT. Judy has been blessed with 25 grandchildren and 53 great-grandchildren.

Judy worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Reese, store clerk at Morby’s Store, and at Deseret Federal Savings and Loan. Her favorite full time job was being a mother and grandmother.  Judy loved to cook and bake. She is famous for her German Chocolate Cake, pies, bread and rolls. She encouraged all to “make out a meal,” and “don’t go away hungry.” She loved holidays, especially Christmas.  Judy was an accomplished seamstress and quilter, making afghans, Barbie and doll clothes, and quilts for all the grandchildren.  She loved camping, traveling, going for rides and was able to enjoy many cruises. Judy especially enjoyed the family gatherings.

As a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Judy served in many callings including Primary President, Relief Society President and as a missionary in San Bernardino, California with Sheldon.

Following Sheldon’s retirement in 1991, they built a home in Washington, UT where they spent their winter months until 2011. For the past 4 years, Judy enjoyed her stay and the many friends at the Family Tree in Morgan, Utah.

The family expresses appreciation for the kind service given by Hospice and the staff at Family Tree.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 29, 2016 at 12 Noon at the Henefer Ward Chapel. Friends and family may call at the church Wednesday, December 28, 2016 from 6-8 pm and Thursday, December 29, 2016 10:30-11:30 am.
