Jenifer Porter, age 59, passed away unexpectedly in her home in Farr West, Utah on Tuesday, May 20, 2025.
She was born on May 2, 1966, in Ogden, Utah to Linda Faye Gibson and Gary E. Barnes. She was the fourth of five children. She had a great childhood growing up in Mountain Green, Utah. Jenifer attended Morgan High School where she played basketball and was active in the student council, being the Senior Class Secretary. She graduated from high school in 1984 and later returned to school to earn her associate’s degree in accounting.
In 1984 Jenifer married Jeffrey Boren and had two amazing children, Curtis Cole and Mallori Ann. They later divorced.
On November 6, 1987, she married the love of her life Kyle Todd Porter and together completed their family with Kylee Jo.
Above all else family meant everything to her. She loved being a mom, but she REALLY loved being a grandma to her 5 wonderful grandchildren and 2 special bonus grandkids.
Jenifer and Kyle loved adventures together and being outdoors. Especially going to Lake Meade, camping in the Uintah’s, trips to the family cabin, and exploring Yellowstone.
Jenifer was always up for bunco or crafting with friends. She loved creating with her Cricut and had a remedy for everything with her essential oils. She was always prepared to paint rocks, craft a shirt, or scrapbook. Jenifer was an avid reader, she even read 180 books in one year. Any book she could get her hands on she would read. She shared her love of reading with her kids and grandkids.
She loved supporting all of her grandkids at each and every event they had going on. She loved making every person she knew feel loved and celebrated. She had an amazing talent for organizing, party planning, and putting together the best goodie bags for every holiday or event. She would find any excuse to get her family together.
Jenifer was loved by all of her coworkers thru the years at her various accounting jobs and loved her Ben Lomond Mechanical family.
Jenifer was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in many callings including Young Women’s presidency, Relief Society presidency, party planning committee, and gospel doctrine teacher.
Jenifer and Kyle were sealed for time and all eternity on December 11, 2020, in the Ogden Utah Temple.
