Jean Ann Newton Jacobson died peacefully at home surrounded by her loving daughters on August 20th, 2026. Ann was born February 7th, 1936 in Hunter, Utah to Eugene and Edna Newton. She was the oldest of 5 siblings. Ann’s family lived in Magna, Utah for the first 5 years of her life before relocating to Upton Utah to run the Newton Sheep Ranch.
Ann aided her mother in running the kitchen for the ranch, cooking and serving all of the meals for the ranch hands. However, her favorite part of the sheep company was bottle feeding the many bum lambs. When Ann wasn’t working in the kitchen or helping with the sheep, she could be found playing in the chalk creek with her siblings. Ann was a daddy’s girl at heart and loved her life on the farm.
Ann graduated from North Summit High School where she excelled in history and art. Ann was sealed to Lonnie Roy Jacobson on June 3, 1955 in the Salt Lake City temple. They were blessed with 5 children - Bill, Kathy, Susan, Ruth, and Kris. Ann’s kids were undoubtedly the greatest blessings in her life.
Ann spent many years with her family enjoying time camping, picnicking, and farming. Throughout her life, she leaned into her talents for drawing, painting, and poetry. She was a lover of beautiful things, especially rocks! She was always on the hunt for the perfect geode, and loved receiving pretty rocks as gifts.
Ann was a great example and a true mentor to her family and friends. She was an individual who demonstrated christ-like love to everyone she met, providing whatever support they needed without judgement. Everyone around her felt comfort, warmth and light in her presence.
Ann was blessed with 12 grandkids, 23 great grandkids, and 10 great great grandkids (with 2 more on the way). Every single grandchild was her favorite.
Ann is survived by Larita Jacobson, Kathy Woolstenhulme, Susan (Kirk) Wilde, Ruth Bowen, Kris (John) Shepherd, Doug Newton, Hiram “Butch” (Sherry) Newton.
Ann is preceded in death by her 2 sisters, Linda and Joan, son, Bill Jacobson, son in law, Donald Woolstenhulme, granddaughters Jesse Brierley and Jennafer Jacobson, and grandson Brandon Jones. Ann’s daughters would like to thanks intermountain home health care and hospice, especially Audrey Stembridge for helping Ann feel comfortable in her last week.
