James Jenkins

July 9, 1941 — May 19, 2011

James K Jenkins, 69, passed away in Heber City, Utah on May 19, 2011. Cause of death was COPD. Jim was born July 9, 1941 in Heber City to Joseph and Belva Jenkins. He was the oldest of five children. Survived by brothers Steve (Roma); Denny; Van (Marsha) Jenkins; and sister, Susan (Kelly) Atkinson. Jim attended North Summit High School. He married his high school sweetheart Donna Rae Brooks who preceded him in death. Jim and Donna have three children: Derk (MaryAnn); Jeremy (Cody) Jenkins; and Joni (Brett) Rasmussen. Jim has eight grandchildren: Mindi, Riley, Jaci, Parker, Austin, Tanner, Jentry, & Delaney; four great grandchildren: Braxten, Jordyn, Kambryn, Talon, and a fifth great-grandchild on the way.

Jim is a retired member of Western Teamsters where he worked at IML Freight lines in Salt Lake City for 20 years. He enjoyed an additional 15 years working at WalMart as an assembler in Park City, where he gained many friendships that were a very important part of his life. Jim enjoyed camping and fishing and took any opportunity he could to spend time in Las Vegas or Wendover. He spent many years involved with little league sports; he enjoyed working with the youth of the Coalville area where he and Donna raised their family.

A special thanks to Rocky Mountain Care Center and the staff for the loving care and respect they showed to him over the last six months of his life.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at 12 Noon in the Hoytsville Chapel in Coalville. A viewing will be held Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the church and Wednesday from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m.

Interment, Hoytsville Cemetery.
