Hal B.Heiner passed away peacefully in his home on October 17, 2025 from a quiet and personal battle with cancer. He was born April14, 1938 to John L. and Florene Butters Heiner. He grew up in Morgan, Utah, working at the family businesses of Heiner Garage and Como Springs Resort.

Hal attended the Morgan School District graduating from Morgan High School in 1957

Growing up in Morgan around the Heiner family businesses he worked many jobs. Hal was always a hard worker. He worked at Como during the summer seasons starting at the age of eight as a key boy at the pool for his Grandpa Heiner. As he got older, he ran the airplane ride in which he was able to collect coins from all over the world from GIs returning from World War II. He also worked at the skating rink and set pins in the bowling alley.

One Summer he convinced the family to allow him to do a speed boat ride in the pond at Como. He worked to dredge the pond to give it depth to run the boat. The speed boat ride was popular for years. There is a generation of people that remember Hal, his boat, and the exciting rides on the pond.

All the time he worked the summer seasons at Como he also worked year-round doing lube jobs and oil changes at Heiner Garage in the “pit”. He Also spent many hours delivering gasoline to farms and businesses around the county.

Hal said he had to climb out of the pit at the garage to move forward so he left to go to work for 4D West. A company in morgan that manufactured PVC pipes and fittings. He always spoke happily of his job there, moving up to a shift lead quickly.

In the Early 1970s he returned to Heiner Garage at the request of his father John L. who was ill. That move put Hal in the position that he would stay in for the rest of his work career. He took over as owner of the Ford franchise after his father’s death. After over twenty years of running the dealership, he retired from the car business, selling Heiner Ford, and ending 87 years of the Heiner’s Ford Franchise.

He was always lover of horses and horse tack. His home always had paintings of horses and horse memorabilia. He always had a cowboy side and enjoyed hunting, riding horses, and pushing cows, when his friends would ask him to come along

Hal was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, while he hadn’t attended for many years, he would never miss watching conference.
