Gladys Downard
June 9, 1937 — March 6, 2009
COALVILLE - Gladys Lillian Ball Downard, age 71. Our loving wife, mother, grandmother & great grandmother returned to her Heavenly Father with her family by her side on March 6, 2009 after a valiant battle with diabetes
She was born June 9, 1937 in Coalville, Utah to Burt & Lillian Ball.
On November 5, 1955 she married her true love, Louis Downard. They had seven children; Manual (LuAnn); Marvin; Louise (Mark) Cummings; LeeLand (Becky); LaRae (Dwayne) Rust; Becky (Steve) Harvey; Janet (Micheal) Morlan; She had 22 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
She is also survived by her brothers: Gerald and Lloyd Ball; and sisters, Edna McGonigal and Colleen Schultz and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Ray, Quentin (Q-Ball), James (infant); sisters, Thelma and Margaret (infant); and her dear grandson, Christopher Downard.
She attended North Summit High School. Gladys loved soft ball, the Utah Jazz, Halloween pranks, and spending time with her family. She was a very caring and generous person and will be sorely missed.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at 12:00 Noon at the Hoytsville Church, 1095 S. Hoytsville Road, Coalville, Utah. Friends and family may call Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 10:45-11:45 a.m.
Interment, Coalville City Cemetery.
