Our dearly loved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Gayle Polad, quietly passed away on May 9, 2025 into the arms of waiting loved ones. Gayle was born in Inglewood, California on February 21, 1945 to Albert William and Vinone Law. She grew up in Draper, Utah, graduating from Jordan High School and soon after graduated from cosmetology school. She spent many years in salons and eventually was able to put a salon in her home where she built a clientele of many long-time friends. In 1983, she began working at Browning, Inc and retired after more than 15 years to become a full time wife and mother.
Gayle married Paul Kent Stuart on July 9, 1966 and had two children together, Marnie Joelle and Michael Paul. They were later divorced. After a few years, she met her eternal companion, Daniel Ross Polad, Sr. and they were married on April 28, 1984 and were later sealed in the Ogden Utah Temple on November 1, 2014. With the union, she became the mom of four additional children, Wendy, Danny, Jason and Stephanie.
Gayle was a very faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints serving as a temple worker for many years until the beginning of the Covid pandemic. She also served in the Relief Society, Young Women’s, and Primary on the ward and stake level. She was also a ministering sister for many years taking this calling to heart, serving and loving the sisters in her ward. She loved attending the temple whenever she could and enjoyed her monthly sessions with her daughter, Marnie.
The thing Gayle loved most was her family and she spent many hours supporting her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren by attending their ball games, dance recitals, plays, and anything else they participated in. She also love flowers and you could often find her in her yard where she enjoyed attending to her many plants and flowers. Gayle also enjoyed music beginning in high school where she often had leading parts in musicals. She also enjoyed the years she spent singing with her friends in their triple-trio group where they worked very hard to put on programs for their families and the community. Gayle shared her mother’s talent of crocheting and she spent many hours making an afghan for each of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren making sure that the first born great grandchild in each family had an afghan waiting for them when they were born. Above everything she loved our Heavenly Father and our Savior, Jesus Christ.
Gayle is survived by her husband Dan, her children, Marnie (Robb) Christensen, Michael (Kenzie) Stuart, Wendy (Ed) Valdez, Danny (Monica) Polad, Jason (Liz) Polad and Stephanie Polad, 22 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren with two more on the way. She is also survived by her four brothers and sisters; Beverly Dorius, Steven (Carla) Law, Denise (Michael) Smith and Kenneth (Marilyn) Law, many nieces and nephews, many, many friends and her precious dog Scamp. She was preceded in death by her parents, two siblings Michael and Janene, and a brother-in-law, Stan Dorius.
