Gary Lee Gorman 87, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones at his home in Morgan, Utah, on July 12, 2026. 

Gary was born January 13, 1939 in Los Angeles, California to Marion Pfaff Thiele and Clinton Gorman. He was an only child. 

Gary attended Monrovia High School where he was an all around athlete, but football is what he loved and where he really excelled.

 He married Diane Studebaker. They lived in San Dimas, CA. They had 3 children, Brandon, Regina, and Sharon. They moved to La Verkin, UT. in 1971. 

They divorced and he remarried Dorothy Long of Salina, UT. He was a wonderful stepfather to her 3 daughters, Heidi, Hilary, and Holly Crane. 

He was employed by Seaward on a transmission power line and worked his way up to finish his career as a superintendent for Irby construction. Gary was well respected in his career. Everyone that worked with him held him in high regard. 

He is survived by his children, Brandon (Anna) Gorman of St. George, UT. Regina (Jerry) Wise of Vacaville, CA. Sharon (Michael) Petterborg of Orangevale, CA. Heidi (Craig) Harrison of Murray, UT. Hilary Thomson of Morgan, UT. 

He is preceded in death by his wife Dorothy and daughter Holly Helmer (Pat) of Ogden, UT. Gary has 21 grandchildren, and 31 great-grandchildren. 

He leaves a legacy of hard work, the love of the game, and especially the love for his family. He will be missed. 

A graveside service will be held Wednesday July 15, 2026 at 12 noon at Salina Cemetery (801 Quarry Rd, Salina, UT 84654).
