Listen to Obituary

Garnet Jean Johnson, 84, of Morgan, UT passed away on November 28, 2025. Born on October 1, 1941 in Bend, Oregon, she was a loving wife to R. Wayne Johnson and devoted mother to David Johnson, Lila Thackeray, Brenda Brunner, and Curtis Johnson.

Garnet was passionate and loved working with the youth. She was a seminary teacher, Relief Society President, Young Women’s President, and held many more callings in the church. Garnet loved being a mom and grandma, family was everything to her. She had a treasured recipe box that included homemade meals that she loved to share.

Garnet’s hobbies included sewing and quilting, reading, history, gardening, and ancestry. Garnet and Wayne’s home is where everyone congregated and felt welcomed and loved. They accepted all and never turned a soul away.

Garnet was welcomed into heaven by her loving and doting husband, R. Wayne Johnson. After being married for 67 years, we are sure their reunion was nothing short of special. She is survived by her children, David Johnson (Maline), Lila Thackeray, Brenda Brunner (Ron), and Curtis Johnson (Debra), her 19 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren.

She is also survived by her sister, Arleta Bain, and brother, Gerald Blair, as well as many friends and extended family members who will miss her dearly.
