Frank Martin Anderson

October 7, 1931 — November 19, 2023

Morgan

Our wonderful and heroic dad, grandpa, brother, and friend, Frank Martin Anderson passed away surrounded by loving family members on November 19, 2023 at McKay Dee Hospital from injuries sustained in a fall. Frank was born to Wesley Vernon Anderson and Helen Brown Anderson on October 7, 1931. He grew up on the family farm in Milton, Morgan County. He loved being with his father and had a deep love for tractors. Just three weeks ago he was thrilled to climb on the F-30 Farmall tractor and drive it through the fields he loved so much all his life.

Dad attended Morgan County Schools and graduated from Morgan High School where he played the saxophone in the High School Band. He also performed with the Milton Orchestra for many years. He attended Weber State College. Dad had a lifelong love for beautiful music. He loved singing Barbershop music and was a member of the Ogden Barbershop Chorus. He also organized and sang with the Milton Barbershop Quartet,

Dad fell in love with our beautiful mother, Lois Dickson when they locked eyes after a band concert at Morgan High School and he offered to drive her home. Dad always referred to mom as “the great love of my life.” They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on December 10, 1952.  Dad was deployed with the United States Army to Korea 10 days after their wedding. He was released from the service in March 1954. He is a decorated war hero and has always been a true American patriot. He returned home to our mom and his 6-month-old daughter. Dad faithfully and lovingly cared for our mom in her final years.

Dad worked in the automobile industry for 23 years. He owned and operated the Anderson Bakery, where the legendary “Anderson Donuts” became famous. The donuts were a favorite among the patrons of the Morgan County Fair for many years. Dad was still making donuts with our sister, Carolyn, at the end of October. Dad was also a very talented mechanic and retired from HAFB after 22 years, maintaining heavy diesel vehicles. He could fix anything.

Dad served in many callings for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and had many priesthood assignments. He and mom served in the Texas Houston South Mission and were also Ogden Temple Ordinance workers.

Dad was very proud of his beautiful home and yard. He loved maintaining the vegetable and flower gardens and mowing the lawn. He loved living in Milton next to his brother, sisters, and parents.

Dad is survived by his six children, Jeanette (Hans) Flink, Mary Lynn (Gene) Done, John (Camille) Anderson, Diana (Greg) Noland, Laurie (Elmont) Bingham, Carolyn (Shawn) Kendall. Twenty-five grandchildren and fifty-six great grandchildren with two on the way. He is survived by his sister, Marilyn Lofgreen and a sister-in-law, Gloria Anderson.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife Lois, son-in-law Edward VanBeekum, parents Wesley and Helen Anderson, brother Jim Anderson, sister Linda Lewis, and brother-in-law John Carr Lofgreen.

We would like to thank the Morgan County Ambulance and First Responders, McKay Dee Hospital Spinal Cord Rehabilitation Team, McKay Dee Hospice Team, Walker Mortuary, and all the wonderful caregivers that have taken such sweet and tender care of our beloved dad.
