Fay Rose Steuer Dearden passed away peacefully in her Mesa, Arizona home on September 1, 2025. She was 98 years old.
Fay and her four siblings were raised by their German immigrant parents in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. When Fay was in her late teens, they moved to Utah, where she eventually met her husband, Doug. Together, they had three children, whom they raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota. They enjoyed the bulk of their married life there. Eventually, they retired to Arizona and spent very happy years there near their son, Mark.
The main theme of Fay’s life was family; her husband, three children and ten grandchildren were always foremost in her heart. In addition, she was a talented seamstress, decorator, painter, genealogist, and author and loved helping people through these talents. She was a great communicator, always quick to encourage and uplift. Her wisdom was remarkable; her humor and enthusiasm, contagious. She had an abundance of faith and courage that stayed with her to the end. She had an incalculable impact on those she loved and will be very greatly missed.
A memorial service will be held in her honor on Saturday, September 20 at 11am at the LDS Church (706 S Henefer Rd) in Henefer, Utah. Interment will be in the Henefer Cemetery.
