Fawn Stephens

October 1, 1937 — November 13, 2013

Fawn Ovard Stephens, beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on November 13th, 2013 at the age of 76.

Fawn was born on October 1st, 1937 to Joseph and Retta Fowler Ovard. Fawn attended North Summit High School. She married the love of her life, Gordon Stephens, on October 8th, 1954, in the Salt Lake Temple where they were sealed for time and all eternity. Fawn was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, where she served in many callings. She loved reading the Book of Mormon.

The greatest accomplishment and joy in her life was her family. She loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Gordon Stephens, her children Tamera (Joe) Thomas, Kenneth (Isabel), Lance (Carey), Dallan (Valerie) and Rochelle (Ari) Hunsaker, 20 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, JoAnn (Harold) Bowen and brother, Brent (Cheryl) Ovard.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Doug, Carl, Glen and Doris.

They also had the privilege of having in their home, through the LDS Church Indian placement program, Pauline Mooring and Karen Benn.

The family will never forget the fond memories of camping trips to the ranch, family vacations to Yellowstone, sunburns at Bear Lake, Family Home Evenings, warm chocolate chip cookies, homemade Christmas candy and the love associated with it all.

We cherished the family parties called at a moment's notice and for any opportunity possible to draw her family together. But foremost in everything she did was her love of the gospel and her desire for her family to stay close.

We wish to thank Kathy Stephens and the Encompass Hospice team for their loving care.

Funeral services for Fawn will be held Saturday November 16th at 11:00 a.m. at the Henefer LDS Church. A viewing will be held Friday, November 15th, from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. and from 9:45 - 10:45 a.m. prior to the funeral service on Saturday, November 16th.
