WANSHIP – Emma Jackson Smith, our amazing and wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend returned to her Heavenly Father to be reunited with her husband and other family members on November 8, 2014.

Emma was born on October 8, 1926 to Lila Gines Jackson and Dorrell Jackson.  She grew up in Kamas, Utah and lived all of her married life in Wanship, Utah.  She married her eternal companion, George Albert Smith on January 13, 1945, which was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple.  Emma gave a life of service to her family and fellow men.  Music was an important part of her life.  She served as the ward organist in the Wanship Ward for over 40 years and taught piano lessons to hundreds of students.  Emma was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she served in many callings.  She had a strong testimony of Christ’s teachings and earnestly lived a life consistent with her beliefs.  She deeply loved her family and cherished the time that she spent with them.

Emma is survived by her children: Rex J. Smith (Doris), Bonnie Smith and Sheldon A Smith (Denise); grandchildren: Todd Smith (Jen), Wade Smith (Cassandra), Chad Smith (Jana), Laura Hill (Jordan), Devin Smith (Kara), Bobbi Jo Petersen (Scott), Camille Stembridge (Kolby), Candace Horne (Chris), Cara Smith and Cameron Smith; fifteen great grandchildren (one deceased); and three sisters: Helen Robbins, Jessie Jeanne Wright and Colleen Turner.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband George and great grandson Beau Smith.  She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

The family is especially appreciative to all who helped care for her during the last years of her life.

Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at the Wanship Ward Church (30899 Old Lincoln Hwy, Wanship, Utah) at 11:00 a.m.  A viewing will be held at the Wanship Ward Church on Tuesday evening from 6:00-to 8:30 p.m. and one hour prior to the services.  Interment will be at the Wanship Cemetery.
