Ellis B Rust, 76, returned to his wife, surrounded by his family, on July 22, 2012. He was born on May 14, 1936 to Alva and Zelpha Pearson Rust in Hayden, Utah. On June 30, 1961, he married his eternal companion, Alice "Ann" Earl Rust in the Salt Lake Temple.
He was a wonderful husband, dad, grandfather, brother and was a choice son of God. He exemplified true service and loved everyone around him. He loved his family especially his grandkids. Ellis had a strong testimony of the gospel. He faithfully served and fulfilled many callings in the Church throughout his life; most recently he was the chorister for the Apple Tree Branch. He served many years in the scouting program, in a bishopric, faithfully took care of those he was assigned to home teach. He has served three missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; Golf States Mission, as a missionary to the inner city mission of Ogden, and for the Deseret Citrus & Cattle Ranch in St. Cloud, Florida. He was a Morgan City Councilman. He retired from Volvo White in 1991 and from Clark's Dairy Farm June 2006.
Surviving are his children: Larry Ellis Rust (Julie), Grantsville, UT; Charlene Richards (Shawn), Magna, UT; Zane Earl Rust (Erin), Logan, UT; Annette Johnson (Wayne), Layton, UT; Kelleen Facer (Martin), Layton, UT; Darryl Benally (Barbara), Orange, CA; and 24 grandchildren.
Also surviving his wife Sonona Beckstrand and his siblings: Elouise Rust Ingleby of Stansbury UT, Alan Rust of Beaver UT.
He was preceded in death by his wife Ann Rust, his parents and six brothers and one sister. Funeral services will be held Monday July 30, 2012 at 11 a.m. in the Morgan Rock Chapel, 10 West Young Street, in Morgan. Friends and family may call at the church Sunday July 29, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
