Douglas V. Wright

Douglas V. Wright passed away peacefully on October 10, 2026. Our beloved father, father-in-law, and grandpa will be remembered for his love of the outdoors and the cabin he built to spend quality time with family. Whether he was enjoying the fresh air, taking in the beauty of nature, or spending time with those he loved, he found happiness in the world around him. He is preceded in death by his beautiful wife, Bonnie R Wright and his daughter, Traci Palmer. He is survived by Sondra (Bernie) Carter, Brett (Erica) Wright, David Palmer, 7 grandkids and 9 great-grandkids.

The outdoors was more than just a place for him to spend his time; it was a place where he could find peace, adventure, and appreciation for life's blessings. Those who knew him will forever cherish the memories made together, the lessons he shared, and the moments that will remain in their hearts.

As a father, he was an important part of our lives. As a father-in-law, he became part of a growing family. And as a grandpa, he held a special place in the hearts of his grandchildren, creating memories and a legacy of love that will be carried forward for generations.

Though our hearts are heavy with his passing, we find comfort in knowing that his love and influence will never truly leave us. We will think of him when we see the mountains, feel the sunshine, hear the sounds of nature, and gather together at the family cabin.

May he rest in peace, surrounded by the beauty of the outdoors he loved so much.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 14, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at the Mountain Green Cemetery.
