Douglas George Jones, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by love on September 10, 2025. He was born on November 26, 1942, in Coalville, Utah, to Bernard Wright Jones and Ina Robison Jones.
With his endless charm and the familiar twinkle in his eyes, Doug had a gift for making friends wherever he went. He had a way of captivating those around him, drawing people in with his warmth, wit, and genuine interest in others.
Doug’s life was one of hard work, deep curiosity, and a love for the outdoors. He took great pride in his career and the things he created with his own hands. Doug loved raising and riding horses. He found peace in fishing, hunting, and spending time in the mountains and rivers of the West. He was a lifelong reader with a sharp mind, endlessly fascinated by the wider world and the stories it held. Whether working or wandering, his heart was always at home under the open sky.
The family wishes to thank the many friends and neighbors who supported Doug in his final months. Your kindness and presence brought great comfort to him and to his family, and will never be forgotten.
