Donna Vee Johnston

On Monday, April 24, 2023, Donna Vee Johnston passed away at 2:45 A.M. at the Morgan County Family Tree Assisted Living Facility. Donna was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend.

Mom was born in Coalville, UT, to George Edward Bowen and Catherine Larue Lamb. She grew up in Coalville, the seventh of nine brothers and sisters. She graduated from North Summit High School.

She married Carl Gene Taylor, and moved to Camden, AR. Though this relationship wasn't permanent, they did have three children together­­­­­ – Kevin, Shawna, and Brad. She later married James Johnston and moved to Morgan, UT, until her death.

Mom worked as a school lunchroom cook at the North Summit school district in Coalville, and later at  Morgan elementary. She retired at the age of 67, but continued to work part time filling in for vacations and sick days, until she was 70 years old. She loved working at both schools, and made many life long friends.

She loved spending time sewing, crocheting many afghans, and doing yardwork. She was a faithful woman who loved her family, church, church callings, and community. 

Donna is survived by her youngest sister, Margery Culbreath, and two of her children, Kevin Gene Taylor (Debra) and Shawna Lee Robison (Robert), and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great, great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her mother, father, eight brothers and sisters, and her youngest son, Brad Taylor.

A viewing will be held in her honor Thursday, April 27, 2023, from 10:00 A.M. to 10:45 A.M. at the North Morgan LDS church, 355 North 700 East, Morgan, UT. Following the viewing, there will be a short memorial service at 11:00 in the chapel. Burial will be at the Coalville cemetery. A light lunch will be served after the burial service at the North Morgan LDS Church, provided by the Morgan First Ward.

We would like to thank the APlus Hospice for their extraordinary help, love, and friendship they provided to mom. Also many thanks to the staff and residents of the Family Tree. Mom loved them all and loved living there.
