Dee Wilkinson

May 28, 1966 — February 14, 2016

Dee enjoyed nothing more than building things. Throughout his life he built homes, relationships and memories. On February 14, 2016, this much loved husband, father, “Papa”, and son finally laid down the tools that served him so well throughout his life and entered into a much deserved rest. He did so on his terms; peacefully and at home in his family’s presence. With his tenacious will, he never found it easy to walk away from a project, but having assured himself that he had given all he could, he departed with dignity and grace.

Dee was a successful general contractor for over 25 years. Outside of his profession, he always sought out new opportunities to build things that brought family and friends together. He often expressed that he learned just as much through his failures as he did from his successes. Dee was heavily involved in serving his Heavenly Father and building the faith and testimonies of others. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served as Elders Quorum President, Gospel Doctrine teacher and in the Young Men’s program for many years. He also served a mission in the Eccles Park Ward.

While his professional focus was in the construction industry, Dee’s first priority was his wife Lori and their five children. The most important lesson he tried to instill through his example was the value of good, hard work and a job well done.

Dee married his sweetheart Lori Hoggan on March 8, 1985. Exactly one year later the marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. They made their home in Mtn. Green, Utah, where they raised five beautiful children: Reid (Megan) Wilkinson, Bridget (John) Netherton, Kilee (Darren) Bybee, Tel Wilkinson, and Cole Wilkinson, currently serving in the Juiz de Fora Mission, Brazil. He is also blessed with 3 grandsons: Crew Bybee, Graham Netherton, and Hudson Wilkinson, with a fourth grandson due in June 2016.

Dee is the son of Max and Shauna Wilkinson of Hyrum, UT. His siblings include Joel (Janice) Wilkinson, Jeff Wilkinson, Dane (Wendy) Wilkinson, Tim (Kristie) Wilkinson, Shane (Connie) Wilkinson, Ross (Trina) Wilkinson, Amy (Shawn) Thornock, and Julie (Trevor) Nyman.

His grandparents preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 20, 2016, 12:00 noon, at the Enterprise Stake Center, 2755 W. Old Highway Rd., Morgan, UT, where viewings will be held Friday, February 19th, at 5-8:00 p.m., and again Saturday prior to services, 10:30-11:30 a.m. Interment, Mountain Green Cemetery.
