On Sunday July 5th Cynthia Parker passed away while surrounded by family and loved ones, after a brave fight against breast cancer.
Cynthia is survived by her husband Tyler, her children Isaac, Brienna, Carson, Jordyn, and Weston, her parents Lee and Marianne Sleight, her siblings Brian (Liz) Sleight, Keith (Mardy) Sleight, and Melanie Sloane, her father and mother-in-law Todd and Wendy Parker, and her sister-in-law Holly (Michael) Call.
Cynthia was born in Preston Idaho to Lee and Marianne Sleight. Cynthia was a proud farm girl from Idaho who loved others and had a desire to serve those around her. She obtained her CNA license at a young age and began serving those in their later years. This led to her meeting a young man who delivered medications to her work regularly and sought her out specifically to sign for them. In time this relationship became more and on September 17, 2005 Cynthia married Tyler for time and all eternity in the Logan Temple.
A little over a year later Cynthia brought their first child into this world. Cynthia flourished as a Mother and two more children were born into the family. During this time Cynthia decided that she wanted to fully dedicate herself to her children and she became a full time mom. In 2014 She and her family moved to Morgan, UT where their family grew further, by first fostering then ultimately adopting two more children.
Cynthia dedicated her life not only to her children but to every child around her. Her nieces and nephews adored her. She repeatedly served in various primary roles in the Morgan 10th Ward. As her children grew Cynthia found an opportunity to serve as a teacher's aid at Morgan Elementary. There she made numerous friends and discovered a love for helping children with reading and math.
In late 2025 Cynthia and her family were stunned when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Cynthia persevered with the support of family, friends, and a wonderful community to fight a brave battle against that cancer. In May of 2026 following treatment and surgery it appeared that the fight had been won. Then less than a month later Cynthia was rushed to the emergency room for what was believed to be a reaction to medications. It was eventually found that, despite the initial belief of remission, the cancer had actually spread to Cynthia's brain and was terminal. Cynthia's family, friends, and community rallied again to support her and her family as she prepared to leave this life. On Sunday Evening we said our goodbyes to a wonderful person we love and miss.
In celebration of Cynthia’s life, funeral services will be held on Saturday July 11, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at The Morgan 10th Ward Chapel, 10 West Young Street, Morgan, UT. A grave side dedication will follow; Viewings will be at the ward building, Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30-10:30 a.m.
