Conrad Nelson

March 23, 1942 — July 3, 2007

MORGAN a" Conrad Patch Nelson passed away on July 3, 2007 surrounded by his family. He died from complications due to Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis "Lou Gehrig's disease."

He was born on March 23, 1942 to Victor Joseph and Helen Patch Nelson. Conrad grew up in Milton, Utah and attended school in Morgan. He graduated from Morgan High School in 1960. He then continued his education by attending Weber State University studying Auto Mechanics. He was also the manager of the football team.

He has one sister, Carol Joy Blonquist; three half sisters: Nadine Kelly (deceased), Jeanell Evans and Avon Buford; and one half brother, Wayne Nelson (deceased).

He married ShaRon Lower on January 22, 1966; out of that union, they were blessed with their only child, Michelle.

He was employed with Tucker's Gas Station in Morgan then was hired on with Utah Power and Light. He was employed with UP & L for 35 years.

Conrad was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He held many numerous positions. He was a temple worker in the Ogden LDS Temple.

Conrad was a good neighbor and friend. He loved to help anyone who asked. He was an avid fan and supporter of Morgan High School sports. For 20-plus years, Conrad was a member of the "chain gang" for Morgan football games.

He had many hobbies, including the talent to create beautiful stained glass art, and taught night classes at Morgan High. He enjoyed drag racing and would take Michelle and boys from the neighborhood down to Bonneville Raceway to watch the drags. He was proud of his 1963 Dodge Polara that he bought brand-new from Carrigan Motors. Conrad enjoyed working on Model A's and was a member of the Beehive Model A Club. But what brought him the most joy was watching his three grandchildren grow up.

Conrad is survived by his daughter, Michelle Tubbs; sister, Carol Joy (Cliff) Blonquist; grandsons: Drew (Kamille) Tubbs, Joseph Conrad "JC" Tubbs; and granddaughter, Dixie Tubbs. He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family would like to thank all those neighbors and friends who loved and cared for him during his time of need. We can never thank you enough.
