Charles Carpenter

September 27, 1963 — September 8, 2012

MORGAN - Our beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend left this life unexpectedly on Friday, September 8, 2012. Charles Scott "Chuck" Carpenter was born in Salt Lake City, UT on September 27, 1963 to Douglas Howard and Mary Anna Woodland Carpenter, the 3rd of 7 children. He was raised in North Ogden, attending Weber County Schools. He graduated from Weber State University in 1987 with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. He taught school in Battle Mountain, NV and Weber County. He later became an agent for Farmers Insurance and worked with them for 20 years. At the time of his death, he was employed by Costco. He had a great love for others and enjoyed serving people in both the insurance and retail fields. He had a great love of teaching and recently recertified so that he could return to the school classroom. He loved sharing his knowledge and talents while tutoring students, the classes he substituted in, his Sunday School class and those many children in the nursery where he served for over 5 years.

Chuck served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the San Bernardino California Mission. He married Michele Doxey in the Logan Temple in 1990, they were later divorced. He and Michele had the honor of hosting several foreign exchange students, Kasia Polack (Poland), Lina Kulidzan (Bosnia), Elena Dwyer (Ukraine), Tobias Spindler (Germany) and Christian Lampe (Germany).

Chuck married Carrie Watt in the Ogden Temple on December 19, 2003. Together they have two beautiful children, Wyatt Scott 7 and Kasha Marie 5.

He and his family enjoyed spending time together making memories. Front Runner, Temple Square, Downata Hot Springs, Yellowstone, Gateway Fountains, the splash pad, camping with family and 4-wheeling in the mountains just to name a few. His presence will be greatly missed as we continue those traditions. We know Chuck's spirit will be there with us.

He is survived by his wife, children, parents, and siblings, Patrice (David) Minch, Tuscon, AZ; Howard Carpenter, Layton; Mary Beth (John) Ford, North Ogden; Jean Ann (Todd) Cravens, Meridian, ID; Paul (Cathryn) Carpenter, Hudson, MA; and 36 nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. He is also survived by his in-laws James and Cleo Watt and their family, Morgan, UT. He was preceded in death by his sister, Brenda Rose Carpenter as well as his grandparents.

Funeral services will be held at the Rock Chapel, 10 S. State St. Morgan, on Thursday, September 13, 2012 at 12 noon. There will be a viewing from 6 to 8 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd, Ogden, on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 and Thursday from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m. at the Rock Church in Morgan prior to services.
