Carl Welch

Huntsville

Carl Lee Welch, age 65, a father of six and resident of Huntsville Utah passed away unexpectedly on Monday August 17, 2020. Carl was born in Arkansas as the youngest to a family of eight. He joined the Navy and served eight years in the field of nuclear power. After meeting his life-long sweetheart, Marianne Monica Welch in 1982, they got married on June 18, 1983.  He graduated with a Bachelors in Electronic Technology and Masters in Systems Engineering. After 32 years Carl retired from Boeing in 2018.

Carl was a selfless husband, father, and leader to all. He had a very strong and devotional relationship with the Lord. He was a true servant of God. This created an undying need to ensure everyone in his life succeeded in spiritual and earthly matters. He was an inspiration to all and always encouraging everyone to reach their fullest potential. His meek and wise leadership allowed him to guide all in times of need. With exceptional emotional intelligence he could empathize in any situation and with anyone, providing calm and clear guidance.

Carl spent his time doing many activities both physically and scholastically. He was passionate about music and loved to play the guitar. He loved the ocean and sailing, as well as skiing in the mountains. He loved traveling with his wife around the world. He spent every day for the past 37 years with his wife. He always held a deep love for her. His greatest joys in life came from spending time with his wife, kids, and grandkids who he dearly loved. He was always beaming with a smile and happy when family was near. He always had a way with people, especially children. His fun and humorous demeanor made all of his grandkids eager to be with him. His smile always lit up the room and spread joy to everyone he met.

Carl is so loved and will be dearly missed by those left behind here on earth. He joined his son Matthew Peter Welch, his parents Melvin and Mildred Welch, as well as his sister Patricia Stephens in heaven. He is survived by his wife Marianne Welch, his five children Joshua Welch (Laine), Regina King (Dave), Julie Blunck (Jeremy), Michael Welch, and David Welch (Christina). He will also be missed by his twelve grandkids; Kole, Christian, Sarah, Alison, Natalie, Wesley, Annabelle, Erik, Benjamin, Emily, Gabriel, Bjørn and his siblings; Shirley Liles, Annie Mae Carlton, Melvin William Welch (Gloria), Grover Welch (Pamela), Ronnie Welch (Candy), and Charles Welch (Joy).

A viewing will be held on Wednesday from 3 to 5 p.m. at Walker Mortuary (45 West 200 North, Morgan, UT) Recitation of the Rosary will be from 4:30 to 5 p.m.

The Funeral Mass will take place at 10 a.m. at St. Florence Catholic Church (6461 UT-39, Huntsville, UT)
