Carl Batt

Carl William Batt, 80, died Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2015 in Morgan, Utah.

He was born Oct. 24, 1934 in Granger, UT to Seth and Erma Beagley Batt.

On Jan. 23, 1954 he married Deanne Barnes in Granger.  They celebrated 61 years together.

Carl retired from Kennecott and later North Summit School District.  He loved his lifetime hobby of raising colts and racing and showing quarter horses. He made many friends shoeing horses in his barn.  He was a talented carpenter and mason.

Surviving are his wife, Deanne, of Hoytsville, UT; two sons and three daughters, Kelly (Linda) Batt, Coalville; Kim Driffill, Salt Lake City, UT; Kristy (Mike) Burmester, Duchesne, UT; Kurt (Darlene) Batt, Coalville, UT; Brooke (Whit) Stephens, Henefer, UT; 19 grandchildren and 42 great grandchildren.  Also surviving are four brothers, Norman, Dick, Mondell and Robert.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack and Seth.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Sept. 28, 2015 at 1 p.m. in the Hoytsville Church.  Friends and family may call at the church Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.

Interment, Coalville Cemetery.
