Mtn. Green a�" L. Bryant Giles, 70, devoted husband, father and grandfather died Monday, June 25, 2007 following major heart surgery.

He was born July 12, 1936 to Harry and Lena Francis Giles in Ogden, Utah.

Beginning his life on a farm in Milton, Bryant later moved to Morgan where his teenage years were spent. He graduated from Morgan High School in 1955 and attended Utah State University and Weber State College, graduating from San Francisco State University. He was in the U.S. Army, 82nd Airborne Division. Bryant worked for Ideal Cement Company (Holcim), for 38 years, retiring in 1995.

Bryant and Carolyn Barker were married in Ogden, March 21, 1958. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden temple. Bryant was an active member of the LDS church and served in various church callings. He loved his family and was always there for them when they needed him. The love of farming never left him, as his yard and garden portrayed. He enjoyed working with horses, golf, traveling and especially activities with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn; his daughter, Lori (Greg) Smith; son, Mitch (and fiance, Lisa Thomas); grandchildren: Elder Ryan Smith (serving in the Washington Tacoma Mission), Courtney and Alex Smith; brothers, Al; and Paul (Judy) Giles; sister, Ruth (Ralph) Crowton; and nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Jocile; and brothers: Mark, Burke, Harold and Floyd.

Bryant was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 29, 2007 at 11 a.m. at the Mtn. Green Chapel, 4150 W., Old Highway Road.

Friends and family may call at the Walker Mortuary in Morgan, Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday at the church from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.

Interment, Mtn. Green Cemetery.
