Bruce Michael Truman, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend passed away on August 7, 2025, in Ogden, Utah, due to several ongoing health issues.
Born March 22, 1948, in Cedar City, Utah, Bruce lived a full life as a gifted athlete, coach, beloved teacher and an avid Genealogist where he took on his mother’s legacy and submitted thousands of names over the years!
He was a proud graduate of Enterprise High School, Class of 1966. He then served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Great Lakes Mission that covered Michigan, Indiana and parts of Ohio.
He finished his Associates Degree at Dixie Junior College in St. George. He then married his sweetheart Claudette Payton in Enterprise, Utah. He then continued his education at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah where he earned his Bachelors Degree in Physical Education in 1973.
After graduating he worked various jobs while raising a family in Salt Lake City area. In 1994 he moved his family to Las Vegas, Nevada and finally became what he truly wanted to do teaching P.E. at the middle school in Pahrump, NV. He taught for 16 years before retiring in 2011. He then moved back to his beloved hometown, Enterprise, UT.
Bruce was a devoted husband of “55” years. He had 4 children, a daughter Heather (Joe) and 3 sons, Timothy (Alysa), Tom and Tyler (deceased). Bruce had 12 grandchildren, that he loved very much and spent as much time with them as he could.
Outside of his family life, Bruce had a passion for genealogy doing as much as he could ad then continuing the work in the Temple. He loved the outdoors, camping, fishing, riding his 4 wheeler, and any competitive sport with his kids and grandkids. In his later years his real passion became going up in the Hills outside Enterprise to cut down and collect firewood. As his passion grew, so did his piles of wood. He eventually decided to start selling it and make some money on the side. He would also donate some of his wood to those in the community that were in need in the winter time.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son and one of his best friends.
Bruce will be sorely missed but never forgotten, for his kindness, support, generosity and sense of humor.
