Brooklynd Preator

August 4, 1992 — March 28, 2014

Our sweet Brookie made Heaven a little brighter on March 28, 2014.  She was and always will be our beloved daughter, granddaughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend.

Brooklynd was born in Layton, Utah on a beautiful sunny day to Martin and Cheryl Preator. Growing up in Henefer, she always was a small town girl at heart. She enjoyed working hard and getting dirty, but always knew how to be a lady.  She graduated from North Summit High School and Seminary in 2010. While there she participated in many activities including choir, FFA, and softball. She had many interests, including American Sign Language and photography. She previously worked at Kiddie Kandids, where she loved capturing the smiles of the children that came in to see her. She currently worked as a bank teller, and enjoyed every minute of it. She not only loved the people she worked with, but also those she was able to serve. Her dream was to become a professional cake decorator.

Brookie was an example of unconditional love, charity and cheerfulness. She was full of personality and could brighten anyone’s day with the sparkle in her eyes, her contagious laugh, beautiful smile or one of her famous warm bear hugs. On a typical day you could find her helping her family on the farm, four-wheeling, shooting guns, playing with her nephews or being creative with her mother. Brooke had many talents, but one that she was most proud of was her incredible artistic abilities. Everyone loved to see the little “doodles” she would often create.

Brookie had a special relationship with everyone she knew. She was an incredible aunt to her two nephews, loving them as if they were her own. Her most recent source of joy was found when she met the love of her life, Rory.  How blessed she was to have found such a true and everlasting love.

Brookie will always be remembered as a beautiful woman, both inside and out,  who not only touched our lives, but brought a sense of hope, compassion, and love to all those who surrounded her. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She had a strong testimony of the gospel and the promises of an eternal family. We are comforted to know that one day we will be able to see our sweet Brookie once again.

Brookie is survived by her parents, Martin and Cheryl; brothers Mitchel (Amanda) and Russell (Brittany); nephews Jaxon and Weston; grandparents Steve and Sandy, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will always love and miss her. We know she was greeted in Heaven by many who have watched over and protected her throughout her life.

A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, April 4, 2014 at 11:00am at the Henefer church. Viewings will be held Thursday evening from 6:00pm-8:00pm, and Friday morning from 9:45am-10:45am at the same location. Interment will be held at the Henefer Cemetery.

Our family would like to thank the firefighters, police officers, friends, and family who cared for our sweet Brookie and our family through this time. We will be eternally grateful for all the kind words, thoughts, prayers, and random act of kindness done in our behalf.
