Billy Freeman

August 25, 1929 — April 8, 2016

Billy was born in Blytheville, Arkansas on August 25, 1929. He married the love of his life, Betty Jean Long. They were married 62 years. They moved to Southern California in 1956 and raised their three children: Michael Lee Freeman (Gabby), Mark Edward Freeman (deceased) and Kimberly Ann Bell (Dave). He has four grandchildren, David, Sean and Brad, Colton and three great grandsons, Riley, Jason and Liam. So proud of all of them!

Billy served in the Air Force for 4 years maintaining jet plane engines. He also taught incoming soldiers how to read and write better. Billy and Betty later in life moved to St. George, Utah and then to Morgan, Utah. Billy is preceded in death by his sister, June Shelton Freeman and his parents Roy and Willa Mae Freeman. Dad will be so happy to meet up with all that have passed in heaven.

Dad’s personality was always positive and happy. He loved his country music and created that love within his children. A favorite memory is that he woke up his children on the weekends with “Good Morning” with loud country music in the background. Each summer, the vacation was to go back and visit relatives in Arkansas, Tennessee, Missouri and Alabama with no stopping on the way other than to get gas or a quick bite to eatJ Dad loved John Wayne and Matt Dillon and was always watching westerns so we all love them too. Kim’s favorite memory is when he picked her up at Kindergarten with his cowboy hat and boots on and she was proud to say, that’s my dad, he’s a real cowboy! Michael and Mark raced motocross and Dad was so proud of this, we went almost every weekend for years, this created our love for camping and the outdoors.

He will be missed by all, his sweet disposition and cute smile and those blue eyes.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Walker Mortuary in Morgan. A viewing will be from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the services.

Interment will be at South Morgan Cemetery
