Beatrice Haas

MORGAN a�" Our mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend Beatrice Valdez Haas, 98, peacefully passed away Aug. 26, 2012 in her Morgan home surrounded by her loving family. Beatrice was born October 4, 1913 in Walsenburg, CO to Leofredo Valdez and Maria Francisca Taylor and was raised in San Luis Valley.

She married Benjamin Vialpando and with him she raised five wonderful children in Rawlins, WY, they moved to Utah for a short amount of time and then they decided to settle down in Craig, CO. Later on after moving to Craig, Beatrice and Benjamin divorced.

In Craig, Beatrice met and fell in love with Lloyd Haas. They both enjoyed traveling, camping, and spending time with their family and friends. Later, Lloyd passed away. She was an active member of the Catholic Church; she loved participating in programs sponsored by the church. She truly loved and enjoyed all of her friends at church, and spoke highly of them all.

Beatrice is survived by her three sons and one daughter: Ben (Prady) Vialpando, Rawlins, WY, Leo (Betty Lou) Vialpando, Rosarito, Mexico, Victor (Jill) Vialpando, Bloomington, CA, and Ida (Wayne) Peterson, Morgan, UT.

She also leaves behind 25 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and 36 great-great-grandchildren, and on e sister, Vera, who lives in Pueblo, CO. She was preceded in death by husband Lloyd Haas, her son Emilio Vialpando, and three sisters: Agustina Espinosa, Maria Hilaria Valdez, and Ester Novak.

Services will be held in Craig, Colorado with interment in the Craig, CO cemetery.
