Barbara Lewis

MORGAN - Barbara Ann Bowen Lewis passed away Friday, March 9, 2012 from complications following heart surgery. Barbara was born September 20, 1928 to Asel Carlos and Elva Lucy Everton Bowen in Logan, UT.

She graduated from Morgan High School in 1946. She married Ralph Burton Lewis in 1946 and they made their home in Morgan. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple in September, 1955.

She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and held many church positions and served a mission along with her spouse and eternal companion to the 13th Ward in Ogden. Barbara loved music and loved serving in church positions in that capacity and she did so for most of her adult life.

Barbara worked as a Dental Assistant for over 30 years and learned most of the skills while on the job. She loved camping and traveling to new places. Her favorite activity was anything that involved family. She also loved playing her Lowery Organ and going to organ classes and activities.

Surviving is her husband, Ralph B. Lewis of Morgan; Daughters: Peggy Ann Nelson of Roy, Marsha Rena Talbot (Don) of West Haven; Sons: Bruce Burton Lewis (Pam) of Morgan, Dennis Kay Lewis (Susie) of Sunset, Mark Wayne Lewis (Cheryl) of Farmington; 27 grandchildren and 57 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Thomas Bowen Lewis and sisters: Gwen and Donna, son-in-law, Arnold J. Nelson and daughter-in-law, Edie Ann Lewis.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at 12 noon at the Morgan 5th Ward chapel, 2700 So Morgan Valley Drive, Porterville. A viewing will be held on Monday, March 12 from 6-8 p.m. at Walker Mortuary, 45 West 200 North, Morgan and Tuesday from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m. at the church prior to the services.

Interment, South Morgan Cemetery.
