On September 20, 2012, Anne Laney Gerhart passed away surrounded by her family.

Anne was born April 8, 1943 in El Paso, Texas. She became a traveler at a young age, as her family moved often because of her father's career in the Air Force. She married Phil Gerhart on August 28, 1964 in the Salt Lake Temple and they eventually settled in Colorado where they raised three children. They also lived in Arizona, before making a full circle and returning to Utah.

Before the birth of her first child, Anne taught third grade in Kearns and in Spanish Fork. In Colorado, she became a certified florist and owned her own business. She was an active member of the LDS church and an accomplished organist. She served as ward organist in nearly every ward she lived.

Anne is survived by her mother, Lucille Walker Laney, her husband, Phil Gerhart, her daughters, Suzanne Gerhart and Christine (Jody) Scott, her son Daniel (Dorothy) Gerhart, and eleven grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her father, Theon Laney, and granddaughter, Katrina Scott.
