Allen Downs

September 28, 1944 — July 20, 2018

Allen Kay Downs, 73, of Roy, Utah passed away on July 20, 2018 to join his loving wife of 56 years, Patsy Downs, in their next journey.

Allen was born September 28, 1944 to Jesse E. and Alta R. Nielsen Downs. He was raised in Washington Terrace, Utah. He attended Washington Terrace Elementary and South Ogden Jr. High.

Dad worked in the fabrication trade, he was a true master craftsman who could build anything from metal. He was always willing to help anyone do just about anything. He worked hard all his life working 40+ years at Grating Systems in Ogden and instilled that work ethic in his children. Dad was a great role model for so many people that knew him. Allen loved anything outdoors: hunting, fishing, trapping, and trap shooting for many years at the Ogden Gun Club and other clubs around the state of Utah/Nevada area with his grandkids.

Allen is survived by his daughter, Jenny (Travis) Smith of Roy; Todd (Amy) Downs of Morgan County; and Trent (Gina) Downs of Henderson, NV; sister, Beverly (Harvey - deceased) Yoder of Perry; 8 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.

The family would like to thank Intermountain Hospice and a special thanks to nurse Lisa, and Home Care aid Cindy for the time and patience throughout this experience with Dad and the family.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Washington Heights Memorial Park.
